Advertise your local non-profit group's upcoming events on the display monitor in the library lobby. Please note: during renovation, these slides will be displayed at various locations within the library. Around 30,000 visitors come through our doors each month, making the screen the perfect place to tell the community what your organization has planned. Please note: due to the popularity of this service, slide requests must be submitted by a Barrington Area Library cardholder. You may receive an email asking you to confirm your library card number.

The screen shows a rotating selection of PowerPoint slides; only basic knowledge of the program is required to create and submit slides. PowerPoint is available on many home computers and in the library.

How to create and submit slides

Slides are based on PowerPoint templates made to fit the screen.
Left-click on your choice of template below and it will automatically open up in Powerpoint. Then you can add your own text and images to customize the slide. Be sure to save your work during the process.

If using the templates below does not work for you, create your own slide in Powerpoint and change the dimensions of your slide to 17 inches wide by 11 inches high. To do this, go to "Design," then "Page Set-Up," choose "Slides Sized For - Custom" and enter the dimensions manually.

The library will display the slide exactly as submitted; be sure all information is accurate and you include all pertinent details, such as date, time and location.
Save the completed slide to your computer or storage device.
Email your slide as an attachment to CommunityInfo@barringtonarealibrary.org. Indicate the date and the number of weeks (1, 2, or 3) you'd like the slide to appear.
