The library is a place for everyone—of any age or ability—to enjoy. The Youth Services department is full of activity and sound, so don’t worry about using your “library voice” all the time. We have games, puzzles, puppets, and a DUPLO play table for children to use here at the library. We also have iPads loaded with kid-friendly apps. If you are curious about a time to visit that would be quieter than usual, speak with a Youth Services staff member or email us for more information.
We offer a wide array of programs throughout the year to encourage reading, imagination, and exploration. Our story times are open to all children, and include activities to appeal to multiple age levels and attention spans. Contact us to discuss special accommodations or to inquire about any of our regular programs. We do occasionally offer programs geared towards children with special needs. See our program calendar for a complete list of upcoming events.
Special services classes from schools within our library district are welcome to schedule a visit to the library for a tour and browsing time. Librarians are also available to lead special activities such as story time, book talking activities, technology workshops and more—at the library or your school. Contact us for more information or to arrange a visit.
Our collection of books, audiobooks and DVDs covers a wide spectrum of genres and topics. Your child can dive into a favorite hobby or interest, or even find a new one. E-books and digital audiobooks may also be checked out electronically and read on a computer or mobile device. Children of all ages are able to get their own library card.
