PFC William W. Shepherd

William Wallace Myers was born June 8, 1896 in Denver, Colorado to Charles W. and Calista Reel Myers. (He was later adopted by his step-father, Walter O. Shepherd.)

 

Shepherd enlisted May 1, 1917, and was honorably discharged as a Private First Class after serving in World War I. 

 

He was a member of Chicago Bookbinders Local Number 8 and the Lake Zurich Masonic Lodge.

 

He married Hildegarde Schobel on May 5, 1919 in Chicago; they had one child. He married Elsie Jahnke on November 22, 1933 in Lake County, Indiana; they raised 4 children in Barrington.

 

Private First Class William Shepherd died November 3, 1961 in Des Plaines, and is buried in Barrington’s Evergreen Cemetery with his parents.
